Windows 10 : System Maintenance and Performance - Checking Drives for Errors When Connected

As drives are connected to your system, Windows watches for errors. If an error is detected, Notifications displays a message. Here’s what to do next.

1. This just-inserted flash drive has a problem—click the notification.

2. Click Scan and fix.

3. Click Repair drive.

4. View the results. On drives with minor errors, you might see a message like this one.

5. If the drive has significant problems, click Show Details.

6. Click Close.
